May Event: Supply Chain Workarounds – The unintended consequences of Heat Pump Water Heater Standards

May 17, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

We’d like to thank all of you who made it out to our Spring Symposium and invite you to join us for our monthly May happy hour event on Wednesday, May 17th, at McMenamins Ringlers Pub (1332 W Burnside, Portland) at 5:30 PM. This month, NEEA Product Manager Geoff Wickes will discuss some of lessons learned in the Northwest heat pump water heater market, including the numerous work arounds found in the supply chain after efficiency standards removed large tank resistance water heating from the market.

Heat pump water heaters are a major focus for energy efficiency in the Northwest and continue to offer substantial savings potential in both residential and small commercial applications. NEEA and other program sponsors continue to adapt and identify effective strategies for promoting this relatively new product. Come join in on this exciting conversation on how to navigate these uncharted – hot – waters!

About the speaker:

As a Senior Product Manager for NEEA’s emerging technologies efforts, Geoff works closely with utilities and trade allies to help identify and prove out innovative energy-efficient technologies to help transform the market. Currently he heads up the Pump Systems Matter board.

Geoff’s background in energy efficiency and conservation has included management in the fields of instrumentation, manufacturing, construction, IT and utility market transformation. He holds Geography and BS Liberal Arts degrees from Oregon State University, and has been a LEED- 2.0-accredited professional since 2004.
